About me
I’m Sarah Vachliotis, a trauma-informed psychotherapist supporting children, youth, and adults, and families through creative, body-based, and relational approaches. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years working closely with families as a professional nanny, drama and music instructor, and fitness and dance educator. I've taught everything from ballet to postnatal movement classes, combining playfulness with body awareness and emotional attunement. These experiences shaped my understanding of how movement, sound, and imagination can unlock expression and healing, long before words are ready. I come from an attachment parenting lens, valuing emotional safety, presence, and co-regulation is the foundation for growth. My sessions are intuitive and paced with respect for the nervous system, especially for clients navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, neurodivergence, and emotional overwhelm. I also developed the SGI Method—Slow, Grounded, Improvisational—a trauma-sensitive framework that blends expressive arts, somatic regulation, parts work, and guided visualization. Clients don’t need to be “ready to talk” to begin therapy with me—many start with drawing, movement, or quiet presence. My approach is grounded in lightness—meeting each person where they are, with creativity, compassion, and deep respect for their inner wisdom.
